A Genwunner's Hypocracy 18

I started to notice this when people were criticizing Pokemon X/Y. Some common complaints consisted of how only fan favorites got mega evolutions and how Gamefreak is pandering to past games rather than trying a bunch of new things, and all I could think of in my mind was how last gen, people were complaining the exact opposite (that there were too many changes to the formula and that it didn't contain enough Pokemon, etc from past games). And it seemed to be the case in a lot of aspects of the franchise; if Gamefreak takes risks with the game and implements new mechanics, people whine that they're cashing in on other games and not actually listening to the fans, but if they do listen to the fans, people whine that they're cashing in on the popularity of certain Pokemon and not allowing enough room for growth. There is no pleasing some people, isn't there?
