A Genwunner's Hypocracy 5

I am baffled by what goes through people's heads when information is leaked. Apparently the same guy on Pokebeach who was able to predict the English names of the new Pokemon is now claiming that there will be a new type called Fairy, and some older Pokemon will be reclassified with this type. At first people seemed excited about the idea of a new type, but now they're all pissed off. Why? ...Because of the name, I guess.

Seriously? You're mad at Game Freak because of the name of the new type? For all that is good, get a life! I am just so fascinated with the amount of feedback that reads: "Fairy type? That's lame, I wanted a Light type!" "Fairy type is too girly!" "If it's really called Fairy type, Pokemon is going downhill."

Why the hate for such a name? Prejudice is all I can come up with. When they hear the word fairy, they instantly think of Tinkerbell, not the legends of the Fae, who were much more butch from what I've heard. It probably doesn't help their narrow-minded opinions that this new type will be used to counterbalance the overpowered Dragon type. They think of Tinkerbell taking down their precious Dragonite and angrily ask: "How does that work?" I'll tell you how it works: it works in the same way that cute little bugs take down Weavile and Umbreon.
