A Genwunner's Hypocracy

I can understand not liking the design of Mewtwo's awakened form and even kind of sympathize with the tiring existence of forms rather than new Pokemon, but here's one comment I simply cannot let fly: "You don't mess with the original 151!" Why not? If you're passionate about first gen, wouldn't you like to see it make a comeback and introduce itself to newer players? I'm willing to bet that the reason this new form happened was because Game Freak knew Mewtwo was really popular and this was their way of helping him get a callback. They wanted to bring him back with a bang, introduce something new to him. But some people are acting like his official design was changed or something. If it's a new form, than I'll bet that means you don't have to keep or even get that form--just keep him how you like him. They didn't change the old Mewtwo at all and, if anything, I see this as an expansion on an old favorite.

And furthermore, I'm willing to bet that a lot of those people whining about Mewtwo having a new form are the same people who have been longing for some older Pokemon like Tauros to get an evolution. To each their own opinion, but make up your mind on whether or not you want the older gens to be brought back.

And for the record, I always thought Mewtwo's new form was cool. I understand why some people consider it "too cute" or "too tame," but I think there's a nice balance there.
